And there it is. An overly negative thought or persisting worry has crept into your mind. It happens to all of us at some point in the week.
But if it stays there, it will affect your entire emotional wellbeing for the rest of the day. Which can seep into private time, and in small ways, affect your family during personal time.

Luckily there is a way to flick away that negative thought or persisting worry.
You see, the mind is only able to hold one big thought in active memory at any one time. Think of it like a slide show. You can only see one slide at a time.
✅ So all you have to do is change the slide ✅
It’s a bit hippy, but what works really well is to have a list of things written down that you are grateful for.
Whenever an overly negative thought or persisting worry becomes established in my mind, and I can’t just shake it off, I jump to my list of things I am grateful for.
It’s a list you’d recognise, because it’s probably similar to your list.
I’m grateful for:
- My awesome wife
- The funniest 8-year-old daughter in the world
- My good health
- Our house which is full of love
- The fact we don’t have a mortgage on that house (ultimate peace of mind)
- What I have learned about business over 13 years, and how that allows me to spend my time doing what I love
If you sometimes have overly negative thoughts or persisting worries, take 10 minutes now to write that list. And keep it somewhere safe.
This is an astonishingly powerful way to restore positivity to the mind.
